Prayerwalking is the act of joining God’s Presence with your place. It’s a about praying for the “peace and prosperity of the city” in which you live (Jer. 29:7). One of the best ways to do this, is to start by praying the Scriptures that speak of God’s promises in Jesus. Here are a few suggestions:

Print out a Scripture or access it on your mobile device. As you walk your neighborhood, office place, or city street, read one phrase at a time, pausing to meditate on the passage. In between each phrase, pray a prayer of thanksgiving and agreement for what is declared in the passage.

Psalm 36:5-9
⁵ Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
⁶ Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
⁷ How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
⁸ They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
⁹ For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.

Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,^[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
³     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

Ephesians 1:3-6
